I really enjoyed my weekend at Brands it was great again the weather wasn't great

with only one dry race all weekend but I came away full of confidence.

Went out in morning practice on the Saturday and the bike felt great,

I really like Brands and everything was working well.

The sun continued to shine until the 125 race, just before we had a thunder storm

the organisers called dinner and we changed wheels, but the track dried very fast and

so we had a dry line. I got a good start and swapped places all race to eventually

finish 4th on the back of a pack of 3.

I was pleased and ready to go for the second race, we managed to keep slicks in for

this race as the track had dried. again got a reasonable start I was racing round in a group

of 3 riders battling for 3rd place, we all got tangled up coming out of clearways mine highsided me

leaving Ross Ashman who was following no where to go (hope the arm mends soon).

Apparently it looked pretty spectacular and although I wasn't hurt I spent the rest of the

afternoon in the medical centre as the organisers insisted I was checked over, unfortunately

we had to miss the open 400 race although the bike was neither in no fit state.

Dad worked all most of the night to mend the bike, I help until I got send to bed to recover for tomorrow.

Sunday was full of rain showers the first race was again on a damp track but wets were

defiantly the right tyres, I eventually finished 3rd which was just what I needed it was a bit of

a relief really I was a little nervous in my riding as I wanted to make up for the non finish the

day before and felt even more confident about the second race.

The second 125 race of the day was very wet and wet tyres were definitely needed, eventually

we finished 4th in this one I got a good start and felt in a comfortable 3rd, but my visor began

steaming up quite early on in the race and I could see a thing. You see I had been wearing a

new helmet as I wrecked another one in the crash and visor didn't have a coating of fairy

liquid to stop it steaming up as I got caught I fought back and went across the line in 4th.

On Sunday we did make the open 400 race to finish 5th I was a little disappointed here

as I believe I could of done better but my wet tyres went off they had done a lot of

work on a drying track all weekend and I believe this took the best out of them.

It's Snetterton next on the 10th/11th of may, so we have got a bit of a break to strip

the engine and rebuild it, o wait dad had that done by Wednesday last week.

Thanks to all

Sam

Hello all,

Well we finally have five dry races under our belts, we had a good weekend at Pembrey,  it was wet all day Saturday and I was a little disappointed with the results, I've learnt though to move on quickly and decided to look forward to Sunday. We woke up to reasonable weather which remained all day and we had a days learning curve with the new bike but by the end of the day riding was strong. I couldn’t get the thing off the line all weekend.

Last Saturday was the second round of the Thundersport GB championship and I hope for a better weekend than the first one at Mallory. Practice was wet so I just went out to remember my lines and the circuit. I had trouble with the steering damper in qualifying and ended up 16th. Then bad starts must be a thing of the past I hope as we got a great start and had a good first corner, I really enjoyed the race which ended up full of little battles and the 14 laps went really quick. We ended up 9th which was a good end to that weekend.

We are out again at Brands Hatch this weekend

Thanks Sam

Well what a strange start to the year two meetings into the new season and no starts for us yet.

I must say Cadwell was very pretty in the snow and I enjoyed my day playing in it, but it did mean no racing which of course was the biggest down fall but there was no way that we was going to be riding so I made the most of it.

I had a rough night Sunday and it wasn't because I spent all afternoon in the clubhouse, I was up all night with the sickness bug which has been going around, as morning came I had got myself ready to race but waking up to icy conditions was what nobody wanted not another day with no racing.

I got up and as the club sounded hopeful about running I decided to walk the track and decide for myself the conditions. Listening to my dads advise for once, and as I wasn't happy to ride on the track we decided not to race.

I am looking forward to my season and didn't want to risk it for one day on a poor track with a club I am not planning on running with. I believe I made the right decision and I look forward even more to our racing! weekend at Pembury.

Thanks Sam

Hello all, well after a long winter the weather at Mallory seemed just like the middle of winter,

but not one seemed to be bothered about the rain and wind I was excited about getting out.

There was a good field and it was great to see a lot there especially the amount of Aprilia's.

Practices went well, felt great we softened the suspension off to give more feel in the condition and

was confident about qualifying. About 5 mins into the session I crashed out coming out of the hairpin,

bit too much power tyre spun up in the conditions. I'm afraid I was to injured to race,

but was quite chuffed with the 10th I achieved in final qualifying after only completing 4 laps.

I am even more ready raring and excited about Cadwell this weekend, hope

to see you there braving the weather,

Thanks

Sam

Well testing only 2 weeks away at Mallory on Wednesday the 20th , the new bikes coming together well and it's all exciting stuff at home. I'm looking forward to the season I feel ready for anything they throw our way after last years struggle. The plan is to run at club lever until mid season, improve lad time and get confidence in what we are all doing.

We plan to make a decision on running back at the British level around July time I believe riding away (all though I still want to be there) will really do me some good and also I have education commitments as I am studying from my HNC with a course that runs on a Friday, guess that's how it goes.

I am very grateful to tell you that we will be competing under the Bartonfields Ltd. Name the director of this company is simply a racing enthusiast and wants to be involved this relationship will relieve me of the pressures I had last season and I believe will work out for the better.

So all in all exciting stuff at the Burmans.

Thanks folks

Sam
