I was born into the world of motorcycle racing, attending my first race
meeting at only a few weeks old. The Burman’s started racing back in
1977 and to the day have 30 years of competitive experience. My father
Phill took his first race win at Cadwell our local circuit in 1978 on a 125cc
BSA Bantam, in 2005 I followed in his winning footsteps taking my first
race win at the same circuit.
My dad achieved great success at club level winning many club championships
and a British championship in 1991, along with fond memories of triumphing
in events such as Mallory race of the year and many other open class events
racing throughout his career 250 and 350cc 2 stroke machinery, competing
all over the country.
As I have grown and understand the saying sport isn’t life or death it’s much
more important than that, I feel proud of my dads achievement and determination
on what many would call a shoe string racing career.
